Athlete spotlight: Prep Soccer’s Juan Gomez

The Prep Soccer Program has risen as a powerhouse in the 2013 season. They achieved a program record sixth place in the state of New Jersey. This success comes as a result of hard work and leadership, demonstrated by both the team and the coaching staff.

A player that has stuck out this year for his exceptional performances is senior captain, Juan Gomez. The captain occupies the central midfielder role on the team. Juan is the core of the Prep attack and with his soft touch, composure on the ball, and undeniable skill, he has orchestrated win after win for Prep. Juan is no stranger to the pressure and competition faced playing varsity soccer because he has been starting on the Varsity team since he was a freshman. The experienced playmaker is the anchor of the team, both mentally, and physically. During his prosperous career as a Marauder soccer player, he has achieved many successes but none greater in his eyes than The Hudson County Tournament Champions during their 2011 campaign. Juan has recently committed to NJIT, a Division 1 soccer program; we wish him the best of luck!
