Do you know what you’re going to be for Halloween? It may be time to start thinking because it is right around the corner! This year it is actually the first day of the second quarter and the Tuesday after a long weekend, so the end of the spooky month will be the beginning of a new marking period.
As for costumes, it is important to know what is and is not an approved costume and how to get approval. Last year, the costumes were submitted on a Google Form and were responded to on a Google sheet, outlining which costumes were given the green light. Below is a list of the most common rejections and their justifications:
- Low-effort costumes that resemble more of a dress-down including sports jerseys, robes, and overly casual clothing.
- Costumes that are not “Halloween” in nature.
- Those that carry unwanted inferences / implications.
- Costumes that may hide the face.
- Costume ideas submitted late.
